Rick Perry Shows His Christian Love

Delusions of Grandeur
When you rule from a sense of perfect infallibility, you've crossed over into delusional tyrant.

During the GOP debate Wednesday night, Williams asked without naming Willingham, or going at Perry armed with the science that undermined the prosecution's case.
Williams simply asked in general if Perry had ever struggled with the idea that someone who was killed via capital punishment was innocent. The weak sauce allowed Perry to wriggle off the hook: "No, sir. I've never struggled with that at all. The state of Texas has a very thoughtful, a very clear process in place of which -- when someone commits the most heinous of crimes against our citizens, they get a fair hearing, they go through an appellate process, they go up to the Supreme Court of the United States, if that's required.
"But in the state of Texas, if you come into our state and you kill one of our children, you kill a police officer, you're involved with another crime and you kill one of our citizens, you will face the ultimate justice in the state of Texas, and that is, you will be executed."

Williams plodded ahead with a sentimental follow-up, asking Perry to react to the fact that members of the audience applauded when hearing Perry has executed 234 individuals. (Conservatives have shown their love of God with their raucous applause), Perry replied, "I think Americans understand justice. I think Americans are clearly, in the vast majority of -- of cases, supportive of capital punishment. When you have committed heinous crimes against our citizens -- and it's a state-by-state issue, but in the state of Texas, our citizens have made that decision, and they made it clear, and they don't want you to commit those crimes against our citizens. And if you do, you will face the ultimate justice."

The most disturbing part of all this is, not so much that there is a radical conservative extremist, self imagined demigod with wildly illogical and amoral ideologies is running for office ...

But, the stunning reality that so many GOD FEARING Americans would willingly embrace someone with such dubious character and questionable ethics.  America won't be satisfied until Lucifer himself is running the country, just as long as he's a the right complexion and he speaks their language.  Actually I would have no problem voting for Lucifer because he would be able to govern without all of the relgious pandering that the GOP serves up year after year. Plus, Lucifer believes in science, that's a win/ win.  Republicans, big on small government, and big on Jesus , yet big on executions. Go figure...The hypocrisy is stunning. I don't know what God these people serve, but he is not one that deserves my tithes and offerings. Oh but, I'm not white so, it's ok. Isn't there a commandment about killing? Doesn't Jesus talk about helping the poor, weak and disenfranchised? What am I saying? That's been replaced by running through a pit of money, child molestation, and feel good preaching promising that I'm going to get rich if only I tithe more and more money that I don't make. Then I have to wonder how did my pastor get a Bentley and make excuses as to why he's prosperous and I'm not.
No Pictures? Problem...
This continues to be a paradox for all Republicans...on the one hand all life is sacred so I am against abortions and on the other hand I don’t struggle about executing a possible innocent person...

Capitol punishment is barbaric and places us on the same level as the Islamic nations who stone people to death and practice summary beheadings and mamings, you know the gas station attendants that want to blow us up?  Capitol punishment doesn't deter crime, that's a statistical fact, it's state sanctioned murder and vengeance. What is achieved after the state gets their pound of flesh by lethal injection? Wet hands? Post homicidal depression? Vengeance is mine said the Lord, or do we just pick and choose scriptures now? Since we love Bible stories, you Jesus tea people, didn't God allow Cain to live after he killed his brother? Was God wrong? Didn't God allow David to remain King after he set up Bathsheba's husband after he had him killed? Was he wrong again? God let 2 people slide? Isn't God infallible? At least according to the Bible that you so called Christians never read that was written by men, in order to control you the peasantry? Texas and the idiots that applauded in the audience would have God himself put to death, but those mindless idiots claim to be Christians but apparently have never read a Bible. Clearly, they get their religion from a Tom Clancey novel and not from the actual Bible that the claim to revere so much. Not enough pictures. But to Republicans, Ronald Reagan is God the savior, who died for our sins and bleeds red, white and blue.

That is who Perry is on par with, the terrorists... nice applause line audience.  What a cruel, chilling and cold-blooded response by the Republican audience. Perry is beyond one's worst nightmare.  He's Bush Redux. He's never been bothered or distracted by things like empathy, kindness, caring, ethics, or doubt. Blinders on, full speed ahead.  I mean faith... All christian... all the time.
