Christianity as a State Religion and Stupidity Spreads

"I have found Christian dogma unintelligible. Early in life I absented myself from Christian assemblies." — Benjamin Franklin

The North Carolina House of Representatives wisely killed a bill that would've paved the way for establishing an official state religion , a recent poll discovers that there is widespread support in doing so. And in creating a state religion, they ignore the document they claim to love so much, THE U.S. CONSTITUTION.

The new survey finds that 34 percent of adults would favor establishing Christianity as the official state religion in their own state, while 47 percent would oppose doing so. Thirty-two percent said that they would favor a constitutional amendment making Christianity the official religion of the United States, with 52 percent saying they were opposed. That's still a majority with common sense, but still too many people that pollute the gene pool with this brand of stupidity. There once was a time when all people believed in God and the church ruled. This time was called the Dark Ages.

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that the First Amendment, which (among other things) prohibits the government from establishing an official religion, also applies to the states. (Supremacy clause). The Supreme  Court and the First Amendment isn't a vehicle of convenience for yelling about hating taxes, the President, or Obamacare, then change things based upon your spiritual belief system, just because you wish it were so.

Republicans were more likely than Democrats or independents to say that they would favor establishing Christianity as an official state religion, with 55 percent favoring it in their own state and 46 percent favoring a national constitutional amendment, due to the fact that they believe that they have the only direct link to God.
These are the people that believe that America was founded on Christian principles based on the 10 commandments, the founding fathers were Christians when everything about the set up of the country is in direct opposition to that fact, and that the fact that the founding fathers spoke out AGAINST setting up a state religion and that was pretty much the reason why the Pilgrims came here in the first place which is something that is easily learned in a civics class.

The Bible is more poetry than historical fact. The idea of absolute truth or falsity is a mistake. As to the 1/3 of our nation who would favor establishing a state religion, this fact speaks volumes about the failure of our educational systems. When the Church gets involved with governance, the dumbing down of society is soon to follow.

Thomas Jefferson rejected Jesus as the Son of God,  the Virgin Birth, the Resurrection as well as all of the Miracles in the New Testament.  He leaned more to Deism and he believed in Jesus philosophy but not the story attributed to him, he believed it to be corrupted by his followers.

Religions are authoritarian hierarchies designed to dominate your free will. They’re power structures that aim to convince you to give away your power for the benefit of those who enjoy dominating people. When you subscribe to a religion, you enroll in a mindless minion training program. Religions don’t market themselves as such, but this is essentially how they operate. (i.e.The Vatican)
Mindless Minion

Religions are very effective at turning human beings into sheep. They’re among the most powerful instruments of social conditioning. They operate by eroding your trust in your own intellect, gradually convincing you to put your trust into some external entity, such as a deity, prominent figure, or great book. Of course these instruments are usually controlled by those who administrate the minion training program, but they don’t have to be. Simply by convincing you to give your power away to something outside yourself, religion will condition you to be weaker, more docile, and easier to control. Religions actively promote this weakening process as if it were beneficial, commonly branding it with the word faith. What they’re actually promoting is submission.
Bow Down Sheeple

Religions strive to fill your head with so much nonsense that your only recourse is to bow your head in submission, often quite literally. Get used to spending a lot of time on your knees because acts of submission such as bowing and kneeling are frequently incorporated into religious practice. Canine obedience training uses similar tactics. Now say, “Yes, Master.” ("I know the Pastor is molesting the little boys, but he is called to preach, so we can't criticize him". Sound familiar?)
Where is My Chicken Sandwich?
When you subscribe to a religion, you substitute nebulous group-think for focused, independent thought. Instead of learning to discern truth on your own, you’re told what to believe. This doesn’t accelerate your spiritual growth; on the contrary it puts the brakes on your continued conscious development. Religion is the off-switch of the human mind.

Religions frequently promote inbred social networks. You’re encouraged to spend more time with people who share the same belief system while disengaging from those with incompatible beliefs. Sometimes this is done subtly; other times it’s more obvious.

If you’re one of the saved, blessed, or otherwise enlightened individuals who stumbled upon the one true belief system, then supposedly everyone else remains in the dark. Certain religions are overtly intolerant of outsiders, but to one degree or another, all major religions cast non-subscribers in a negative light. This helps to discourage members from abandoning the religion while still enabling them to proselytize. The main idea is to maintain social structures that reward loyalty and punish freedom of thought.

This us-vs-them prejudice is totally incongruent with conscious living. It’s also downright moronic from a global perspective. But it remains a favored practice of those who pull the strings. When you’re taught to distrust other human beings, fear gets a foothold in your consciousness, and you become much easier to control. (They hate gays, poor people, and anyone different than them).
Obey!

When you join a religion, your fellow mind-slaves will help to keep you in line, socially rewarding your continued obedience while punishing your disloyalty. Why do they do this? It’s what they’ve been conditioned to do. Tell your religious friends that you’re abandoning their religion because you want to think for yourself for a while, and watch the sparks fly. Suddenly you’ve gone from best friend to evil demon. There’s no greater threat to religious people than to profess your desire to think for yourself. Some may even suffer excommunication from the cult of their choosing.

Religion is the systematic marketing of fear.

Blessed are the poor (donate heavily). Blessed are the meek (obey). Blessed are the humble (don’t question authority). Blessed are the hungry (make us rich while you starve). Blessed are the merciful (if you catch us doing something wrong, let it go). Blessed are the pure of heart (switch off your brain). Blessed are the timid, the cowardly, the fearful. Blessed are those who give us their power and become our slaves. Religion will teach you to fear being different, to fear standing up for yourself, and to fear being an independent thinker. It will erode your self-trust by explaining why you’re unable to successfully manage life on your own terms: You are unworthy. You’re a sinner. You’re unclean. You belong to a lesser caste. You are not enlightened. Of course the solution is always the same — submit to the will of an external authority. Believe that you’re inadequate. Give away your power. Follow their rules and procedures. Live in fear for the rest of your life, and hope it will all turn out okay in the end.

Forgive Them For They Know Not  What They Do
My point is clear, every religion needs to stay out of the state. The people who want a Christian state are well-meaning, but their good intentions are misplaced. The other 2/3rd's may also want a religious state, and it won't be a Christian state. The sword can cut both ways...

New Hampshire Takes Turn as Dumbest State in the Union

For a state that has a motto "Live free or die", mental assassination must count.

Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, and Arizona may have some stiff competition as the titular head of the dumbest state in the US by actually having Legislators sponsor one of the dumbest bills that I have ever heard of.

A Republican state lawmaker in New Hampshire who introduced legislation to stop the teaching of evolution in schools has claimed that the theory of evolution lead to the Columbine massacre. How a public outcry wasn't held by the inflammatory, half-witted and frankly imbecilic speech is unknown. It's gets better...

Republican State Rep. Jerry Bergevin, one of the dumbest Senators ever,  told the Concord Monitor last week that his bill will teach evolution as a still tentative theory based on what he said is the political impact of the concept on society. Bergevin, author of one of two anti-evolution bills pending in the New Hampshire Legislature, linked the "worldview" of evolution to the rise of the Nazi Party, among other evils. How the reporter did not erupt into a fit of laughter or intractable anger after hearing the next line:

"I want the full portrait of evolution and the people who came up with the ideas to be presented. It's a worldview and it's godless. Atheism has been tried in various societies, and they've been pretty criminal domestically and internationally. The Soviet Union, Cuba, the Nazis, China today: they don't respect human rights," he said.

"As a general court we should be concerned with criminal ideas like this and how we are teaching it... Columbine, remember that? They were believers in evolution. That's evidence right there," he said. The evidence is right there that you have fecal matter for a brain Senator, and you were elected by half wits. Columbine had nothing to do with evolution. The boys said in their journals why they attacked the kids they attacked. They were being picked on by the jocks, they were outcasts, loved guns, lack of supervision, depressed and suicidal, blah, blah, blah. Just because they were taught science isn't related to the massacre. They just happened to do what they did at the school, because they wanted to go out with a dramatic flair, their course curriculum is irrelevant.

Bergevin's bill was filed alongside a bill sponsored by two other Republican lawmakers that would broadly call for science teachers to emphasize that new scientific results can dispute established scientific theories. You know what that's called? SCIENCE.

Other idiotic and overreaching bills sponsored by this legislature are to make the killing of an unborn child a first degree murder offense and to allow churches to engage in political campaigning (which is what they do anyway). So, this is the party of tort reform, but it's perfectly acceptable to clog the courts up with stolid cases of murder for miscarriages, abortions or other social issues that are a constitutional right to privacy. Sure it's OK to protect the insurance companies money when they leave a sponge in your aunt and she dies of  sepsis, but if you eat a salad then that's government intrusion. If you have an abortion then that has to be prosecuted the same as someone being beheaded and their remains left to decompose on a lake front. Yeah...that's the same thing.

Some things this legislator would know if he went to any school anywhere in the 20th century, Cubans aren't atheists, they are Catholic, 60% of the nation are. They are descendants of Spain, or a former Spanish colony. Most, if not all former Spanish colony's are Catholic, unless Pat Robertson remembers an imaginary conversation that tribal chiefs had with Satan which caused some major cataclysmic event. Catholicism is the National religion, just because the political system happens to be "communist", which isn't even scary anymore, means nothing. Castro is on the verge of death and no one is left on that island but impoverished blacks that no one cares about, just like the ghetto's and prisons here. The Nazi's actually used a bastardized form of Christianity replacing Jesus with Hitler and a sick fantasy proving that whites (Aryans) were the superior race with a psuedo science called Eugenics. Technically they used Pagan/ Norse mythology and combined it with Christianity. Pretty much Christianity at large, or is Christmas and Easter religious holidays? Oh, to most of the sheep they are. The Chinese are Buddhists, again that has nothing to do with the Geo political system of Communism. Christianity can stack up enough bodies right with the worst "atheistic" dictator anyone can name, or did he just gloss over the crusades, witch trials, the reformation, the great schism, and the very founding of this nation. The pilgrims came here for religious freedoms. It was issues with what religion you think? They weren't running from atheism, communism, or columbine in Britain were they? Read a book, it's all there.

Any country ran by any dictatorial leader has nothing to do with some "lack of faith in God", but because they are ran by totalitarian communists, fascists, etc... He may be blithely unaware that Al Qaeda believes in a god, so apparently it isn't atheism that makes people evil, just ignorance and he and his constiuents have plenty to spare.

Explain how science has now become a crazy theory that now has to be proven by a person that can't find it's butt with a map. Surely he realizes while he eats his barbecue pumped full of steroids, watching football on his flat screen, queer hating on twitter, bemoaning science to his equally stupid friends on facebook, USA falls competitively behind in the world.

For those who know nothing about evolution other than the monkey thing, and are too lazy to actually read anything else, the Theory of Evolution in no way, shape or form comment on the existence of a god or indeed the lack of one. In fact the Theory of Evolution has as much to say about the validity of atheism as it does about theism which is nothing at all! It has nothing to do with traditional creation stories (unless your a literalist and the Bible should not be taken literally), has nothing to do with the beginning of the universe or even of the beginning of life. Evolution is both a fact and a theory. The fact is diversity with descent with the theory of evolution being natural selection (most basic tenet). No one questions the fact that matter attracts matter and we have used various theories of gravity (Newtonian Mechanics, Relativity) to accomplish a myriad of great endeavors.
There is absolutely no reason to treat evolution differently or feel that your theistic world view is threatened. If you deny the fact of evolution then you may as well throw out every scientific fact and theory.

In essence, if you doubt evolution, then you might as well doubt gravity, protons, genetics, astronomy, atomic energy, the earth is round you know things we can't physically see but we know are there. Creationism has no place in science class and it appears that someone should explain to them and those that agree with them what scientific theory is. This is something a politician in Iran or some other backwards country would say, not America. This proves that neither sanity or intelligence is required to run or achieve elected office in the United States of America. All one has to say is "God", "Faith", and some anti- faggotry language, waive a Bible, and stick an American flag lapel pin on and there you go, $100k per year job plus mileage.

He and all who think like him are anti science, anti intellectual neanderthals who are dangerous to all they represent and influence. They should never be allowed to reproduce without some serious mental help.

These people who continue to argue against science continue to prove that evolution is moving at a glacial pace. Believing in evolution means that your IQ is over 60, not that you are a mass murderer.

Bachmann's unINTELLIGENT DESIGN

Flat earth theorist and category 5 moron Michelle Bachmann is back at it again to prove that the sh&t isn't that far from the bat with her latest opinions about what the children of America should learn in school. It appears she want's the kids as dumb as she is because she believes that religion trumps science and the Genesis story is somehow supported by science. She also thinks that the exclusion of "intelligent design" is a government conspiracy or some form of government censorship.

She explained that she believes "God created the earth" and issues such as the Second Law of Thermodynamics, irreducible complexity and the "the dearth of fossil record" need to be addressed.

Bachmann also stated, "If you look at scientists there is not a unanimity of agreement on the origins of life." She made similar remarks in 2006. Negative ghost rider, we got unanimous agreement, you just don't like the unanimous agreement's story, not enough clouds and angels.

"There are hundreds and hundreds of scientists, many of them holding Nobel Prizes, who believe in intelligent design," she said then.

She goes on to say, "What I support is putting all science on the table and then letting students decide." She added, "I don't think it's a good idea for government to come down on one side of scientific issue or another, when there is reasonable doubt on both sides."

Michelle Bachmann is the living example of why intelligent design doesn't hold water. Evolution is a proven fact you nitwit. Try taking a biology class and see evolutionary change happen to single-celled creatures and some invertebrates right before your eyes, they're big enough.

If it wasn't for the study of bacteria evolution, we wouldn't have many of the antibiotics we have today, I forgot, a genie gives us medications. I think that this is a decided issue and only idiots continue to relitigate this. How is there reasonable doubt on science? Intelligent Design is NOT science. Why is there a problem or some debate when there isn't one really there? Claiming a scientist that believes in intelligent design is some sort of victory for religion is absurd. It just means they have a religious faith of some kind, not that they don't believe in science, which is a subject that apparently the corn dog deep throater has no knowledge of or any intellectual curiosity in. Does that influence their work? Highly unlikely.

One of the essences of science is that its findings can be used to make predictions, such as the length of time before the sun burns out, the trajectory and timing of comets, and the exact time and location of the path of totality for solar eclipses many years before they occur. For those who regard creationism as science, please provide one prediction derived from your "science" (that isn't dependent on traditional science). If you can't, it's not science. Period. Not when the second, third coming of Jesus will be, the opening of the 7 seals, figuring out who the Anthchrist is, and hating people who aren't just like us. Religion should be discussed in a religion class, not a science class. Intelligent Design is no more scientific than the theory that the world rests on the back of a giant turtle being in an astronomy class.

If we are to treat religious concepts as having the same status as scientific concepts, virtually every scientific finding would have to be overturned. Geology classes would have to include the idea that the earth was created in a week, and all DNA would need to show evidence of a single set of parents. In other words, every invention that is based on science must be an illusion--it does not exist. We are walking around in a dream.

Michelle Bachmann's a dangerous demagogue, a science denier and a sophist leading the gullible, the zealots and the dumb. If you believe that Creationism is the same as Science, then yes, I mean you.

Let's let students decide that standing in a tub of water while holding on to a live electric wire and see if it's OK ... this woman is stupid and so are her followers.

They remind me of the saying: If Science is too hard for you, try Religion.

Rick Perry- Evolution in Reverse

Rick Perry is taking Bush's title as "The Incurious Little Monkey" with each passing day. Why would anyone want to go down this road again?

I Love Jesus, But I Learned Alot from Satan
George Bush Rick Perry continued to voice skepticism about evolution during a campaign stop in South Carolina Friday, telling a supporter "God is how we got here." Really Pretty Ricky? Says who? Where did you come by this information?

On Thursday, in New Hampshire, Bush Reloaded told a woman and her son that he regarded evolution as "a theory that's out there" and one that's "got some gaps in it.”

When a woman in South Carolina congratulated him for his remarks Friday, (he was actually congratulated for pandering and misinformation. That's like thanking the Klan for lynching my great grandfather). Perry replied “Well, God is how we got here. God may have done it in the blink of the eye or he may have done it over this long period of time, I don't know. But I know how it got started." So...if God did this "it" over a long period of time, wouldn't that be EVOLUTION?

I don't know Rick Perry, and haven't followed him,  but he's a sad Bush clone. But I have a strong suspicion that God ISN'T "how HE got here" at his campaign stop in South Carolina.

More than likely HE arrived..............................................via chauffeured limousine. I wonder what Jesus would have to say about that?  Most pastors would say that he paid his tithes and God was blessing him so that's why he was riding in a limo. He might have gotten here (on earth) by God. However, he will be using Satan and the mindless to get into the White house!

Jesus Loves Me
I respect Mr. Perry's beliefs and I will defend his right to express them, you know first ammendment and all. But creationism is NOT science, and in science a 'theory' (as in the theory of gravity) does not mean what he thinks it means. This type of ignorance makes him unqualified to make decisions about educating our kids.  Almost all of the arguments I have seen and heard against Evolution are just plain ridiculous. Even so-called Christians who are scientists like say Isaac Newton NEVER cited the Bible to uphold his scientific holdings. That is because the same well spring of knowledge from which the Bible comes from is a completely different well spring of knowledge from which scientific know how comes from. Face it, using the Bible to understand scientific findings makes about as much sense as using the Pythagorean Theorem to understand Shakespeare.

"Evolution is just a theory"
"We are descendant from monkeys"
"Evolution is based on luck or random events"

If you know anything at all about Evolution you would already understand what these statements are NOT what Evolution is about and are pure nonsense.

Evolution is not a "theory" in the conventional sense of the word.
A scientific theory is what one or more hypotheses become once they have been verified and accepted to be true. A theory is an explanation of a set of related observations or events based upon proven hypotheses and verified multiple times by detached groups of researchers.

How would you feel if he Cowboy Ricky said the "Theory of gravity" is just out there?
A scientific theory is not something that is yet to be proven, or do you still wonder what happens if you throw a rock up into the air?

Evolution has nothing to do with religion. It does not explain the origin of life.
It explains the origin of species. In other words there is room for a God. Evolution does not argue against it.  I do not know how life began. I do know and understand how it evolved.
Questioning that fact is very troubling to me because it indicates a severe lack of basic first grade understanding.

Descended From Monkeys
Perry wants Christians to pray to God for solutions to our country's troubles. I did and God said, "TAX Churches!"   Tax them, tax them until they squeak, until they refrain from sticking their noses in the business of government.  And this is the best the Republican party can do for a Presidential contender? The Republican party is lost, totally lost.  And all the while cultures that don't see a conflict with teaching REAL SCIENCE to their students, like China, are laughing at our leaders like Perry. Rick Perry, why do you hate America so much that you don't want it to be competitive in the future?

And Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy are real too, dang it!!!   By republican standards, they co-existed with dinosaurs and unicorns.

GOD is how Texas and the entire Bible Belt got to the bottom of every major quality of life indicator there is to be measured. GOD must really hate the South and I can't say I blame him. I hate this cesspool for the lowest common denominator too.
