Every four years one question drives those of us that are not blinded by religious pandering and singleminded dogma to the polls. This question is the one question that outside of speeches, kissing babies, American flag lapel pins, standing on stage with the carefully set up all American family with the canned answers is the one thing that is important. "Am I better off today than I was four years ago?" I can say without hesitation, HELL TO THE NO, I am worse off than I was four years ago and millions of people agree with me. I fall into the category of the long term unemployed who can't find a job but who has the misfortune of being educated, therefore I am "overqualified" or "qualified" but not the "highest qualified" if we are talking about federal jobs, which  usajobs.com should be labeled a complete joke web site. Oh, but you decided to implement a hiring freeze for federal jobs, didn't you? Smart.

Why did you run for President? Did you think that your oratory would make partisanship and party lines evaporate and that we would all hold hands and live in a post racial, a-political utopian America. After your initial attempt to reach "across the aisle" back in 2009 by inviting the Republicans to the White House and they refused you over and over, then you should've known what time it was.  Yet, you continued to try and try and fought against the positions that you campaigned for, like DOMA, the public option and the Bush Tax Cuts, Closing Guantanamo, ending the conflict in Iraq...I could go on and on with this... Actually, you have a disturbing pattern that is not effective for leadership: Let the House and Senate bicker and fight, allow them to poison the media well for months at a time, then, after the tide of public opinion has shifted against you, THEN, you come out of your hole and begin making speeches.

You cannot afford to play the role of Mediator, that's not your job. You signed on to be PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. NOT MEDIATOR OF THE UNITED STATES AMERICA. Maybe I'm used to the Bush years when he so effectively maintained the message of his administration through his front company Cluster Fox. He was stupid but he had sense enough to use the media to spin misinformation, what do you do? Play it safe by pretending to be the "adult in the room". While you play adult, your opponents will do anything to ruin your presidency, dehumanize you, and have no problem seeing the world go down in flames to do it. Hey, unemployment are just numbers to them and apparently to you, but to me and others who can't find a job, our perspectives are slightly skewed. It's disingenuous to give a speech, several speeches about not renewing the Bush tax cuts, then renew the Bush tax cuts becuase the Republicans are holding up unemployment insurance and the debt ceiling. Who is the President? You or the Speaker? Would Bush or Clinton allow their authority to be challenged in that way? If you are going to be hated by the progressives and the right wing nut jobs anyway, then make bold choices even if they fail legislatively. Why? It shows leadership, something you have been sorely lacking in since you took the White House. Yeah, you ordered Bin Laden shot in the face, but big deal, you are working with 41% approval, and a Republican field who is bashing you instead of each other.

Why did you even bother to go on a "bus tour"? What is it about bus tours and politicians? All you need to do is run an internet search or google yourself. Turn on Fox, MSNBC, Bloomberg TV, it's all right there, big and bold as crap, take a huge whiff. I knew 3 years ago, that you would disappoint people and could never live up to your own hype, but for God's sake, if you want to be President, be President, not Professor X. Was this your goal?

- People are getting increasingly desperate as they go month after month without being able to find a job.

If you can't be decisive and stop being afraid of your own shadow, then you shouldn't even bother running in 2012. You are a nice guy, articulate and probably friendly, but the "c" word should be banned from your vocabulary. "Compromise" should never be spoken under pain of death by any member of your staff, friends, family, or associates. Even if God speaks the word, he should fear your wrath. You benefitted by being black and your intelligence, it's almost like the trance of Bushism was broken and the sound of stupid spell was finally broken. Now, you fall into the trap with the conservative fixation with debt reduction at a time when we need Government spending and deficits to support the fragile economy. You are Bush lite only smarter. Personally, you are a conservative in a liberal's suit. Nothing about you is liberal, except you have a "D" by your name. Everything else about you is Republican.

During your electrifying campaign where the koolaid was served in throngs, you blasted Bush on his refusal to "change course" when strategies failed in Iraq, yet you do the exact same thing. Your leadership style needs to change but it remains stagnant, and limper than a sad wet noodle that's been left out in the rain. Your presidency is marred with disillusionment, rife with disappointment, depressing, and it needs a Xanax because it's a total bummer. The consequences of this disillusionment will be profoundly felt in the 2012 election. Republicans and independents will vote against You with their hands. Democrats and liberals will do so with their feet — by staying home. You don't hear anymore songs singing your praises do you? Oprah isn't here slobbing your knob on her show.

You had all the trump cards and you decided to play go fish instead of poker.  If the Republicans would not compromise on the Bush tax cuts, let the tax cuts expire. That would get the Republicans to the table and would have completely changed the debt ceiling debate.

He should have called the debt ceiling fiasco a Republican scam and political theater from the outset. Anyone sober and English speaking knew what it was, except you apparently.  The Constitution does not allow for a default on our debts. To be presidential, you should have picked a reasoned position and defended it, invoke the 14th Ammendment, and moved on.  Caving to one dysfunctional branch of the government will only encourage more dysfunctional government, which is what will continue to happen. Bill Clinton even said, invoke the 14th and let the courts decide, but the debt limit would be raised and the government could get back to governing. Since you enjoy pointing out that Reagan and Clinton had low approval numbers and divided houses...

YOU ARE NOT REAGAN! Stop trying to invoke him. This is a different generation and a different political climate. You need to borrow from the Clinton/ Bush playbook. Sometimes kneecaps need to be broken for people to learn. Right now, you are more used car sales man than transformative leader and Bishop Eddie Long has more credibility and he's a greasy haired, retro displaced pimp with a problem of touching little boys.

Please decide if you are going to be the leader of the free world or are you are going to be the coon in chief.

Sen. John McCain on Wednesday took on conservatives reluctant to raise the national debt ceiling, calling them "tea party hobbits" and saying that if they reject the House Republican plan, they will help reelect President Obama.

At times reading from a Wall Street Journal editorial during his floor speech, the Arizona Republican also ridiculed Democrats, saying Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's plan is "full of smoke and mirrors."

But he directed the most biting sarcasm at his own party.

The "hobbits" remark came from the Journal editorial, a reference to the little people of Middle-earth in J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy.

McCain said conservatives' insistence that an increase in the debt ceiling be accompanied by a balanced budget amendment was "worse than foolish" because it couldn't get through the Senate.

Reading from the editorial, McCain continued:

"The idea seems to be that if the House GOP refuses to raise the debt ceiling, a default crisis or gradual government shutdown will ensue and the public will turn en masse against Barack Obama.... Then Democrats would have no choice but to pass a balanced-budget amendment and reform entitlements, and the tea party hobbits could return to Middle-earth having defeated Mordor. (It seems the Republicans have been making good use of their Netflix subscriptions before the increases goes into effect).

"This is the kind of crack political thinking that turned Sharron Angle and Christine O'Donnell into GOP Senate nominees," he said, referring to the failed tea-party-backed candidates from Nevada and Delaware.

"The reality is the debt limit will be raised one way or the other.... If conservatives defeat the GOP plan, they will not only undermine their House majority, they will go far to reelecting Mr. Obama and making entitlements that much harder to reform."

Is this the same guy that dug up Sarah Palin, a person that can't even spell her own name,  from the Alaskan permafrost in 2008? If the tea party are Hobbits, then McCain is Gollom, the schizophrenic split personality who is a DSM-IV's wet dream,  Hobbit aged unnaturally because he was corrupted by the power of the ring. Because of his insanity he was willing to risk self destruction to obtain the thing he believed he wanted, but it ended up destroying him and his reputation as an honorable man and so called "maverick". My only problem with his comment, is that to compare members of the Tank the Economy of American (TEA) Party to Hobbits is an affront to those gentle and good-natur­ed beings. They are more like Orcs than Hobbits. Where are the Cylons when you need them to beam me off this dead rock? It appears that someone spiked Gollom's coffee with some viagra and he's finally waking up to reality. We can only hope.

Maybe the people won't get the reference that Republican's are Hobbits because that's so 2003. Calling Republican's Decepticons could be a more relevant up to date reference. After all the Tea Party members are robots in disguise, they hate human beings, and they don't mind destroying the entire planet Earth to accomplish their goal. What I do know, is that McCain has reaped what he has sown by introducing and promoting the gold standard of ineptitude in governance, The Hillbilly's from Wasilla.

Tricky Rick Warren Throws Massive Weight on Debt Ceiling Debate

Tricky Ricky Warren, is the founder and senior pastor of the Saddleback Church, a bigot, an anti-Semite, a holder of bizarre sexual theories, a non-believer in science, a moral degenerate, a thug, an embarrassment to his religion, a liar, a huckster, a glutton, a goatee wearer, and more importantly a dick.

Tricky Ricky Warren's influence, and thus his bigotry, has metastasized all over the country and the world through the sale of his best-selling books The Purpose Driven Church and The Purpose Driven Life. Because of this, he has sometimes been called "America's pastor," which he is, to the extent that Americans are bigoted, lying, anti-Semitic, anti-science, gluttonous hate-mongers. For the increasing number of Americans who don't fall into that category, however, not so much.

In the past, Warren's spiritual heirs were more honest about their hatred of the Jews, the blacks and the gays. They made an alliance with the Republican party that was called "The Southern Strategy." The GOP ran the logistics, and the evangelicals whipped up the bigotry. It was very successful for almost 40 years.


But because of a few do-gooders and the evils of "political correctness," open bigotry gradually became unfashionable, confined mostly to white southern males, Fox News and your grandfather. If bigotry was going to have a future in the mainstream of politics, bigotry was going to have to be re branded. Enter Rick Warren, and the Purpose for which is life is Driven.


Warren saved bigotry's place in the mainstream by coming up with the idea to repackage it inside a "concern" for poverty and aids. If you didn't know that Warren "cares" about poverty and aids, this means you've never heard him speak, because there is nothing he likes to do more than tell you about his "concern" for poverty and aids. In any case, now you've been told: Rick Warren is a guy who really really "cares" about poverty. And aids. Seriously. He even talks about them! (Though not quick as much as he talks about the fact that he talks about them.)

What's that over there sneaking in the back door? Bigotry? Don't pay any attention to that! Look over here, at Pastor Rick's "concern" about poverty and aids.

There are some who are puzzled by this because, according to their reading of the New Testament, such concern should be taken as a given. Those people, however, simply don't know the Word Of God like Pastor Rick, who knows from his close reading of the text and his close relationship with Jesus, with whom he has "been a friend...for now over 40 years," that vanity and narcissism and bragging and preening and congratulating oneself about one's "concern" for the poor is at the heart of the teachings of Jesus.

Through the Christ-like genius of Pastor Rick, the poor and those with aids were finally able to make themselves useful for something: making bigotry taste a little bit sweeter. The plan was stunningly successful. Of course, that the media would be eager to continue the place of right-wing evangelical bigots at the table is not surprising. It is, after all, an institution that still employs David Broder and Cokie Roberts and Bill Kristol. With new scholars Michelle Bachmann, Herman "Uncle Ruckus" Cain, Rick Perry, Lonesome Roads Beck, and the entire evening anchor talking heads at Fox.
Warren's re branding of redneck bigotry was so successful that he hosted a presidential debate called the The Ruse to Lure Yet Another Gullible Democrat Into Legitimizing Bigots Who Will Never Vote For Him Civil Forum on The Presidency.

Tricky Ricky tweeted, then deleted, a jab at those who want to increase the debt ceiling, reports Newport Beach Patch.


"HALF of America pays NO taxes. Zero. So they're happy for tax rates to be raised on the other half that DOES pay taxes," Warren tweeted yesterday, presumably in response to President Obama's Monday speech on the debt ceiling. He later deleted the tweet after the outcry on Wonkette and Politico, and seemed to apologize for the comment to twitter user @karoli with this tweet: "@Karoli You are 100% right! It did sound mean." No...It sounded stupid, just like 99.9% of everything that you say.

Of course, it isn't true that poorer Americans pay "zero" taxes. While 47% of the population owed no income tax for 2009, these Americans still do pay payroll, sales, state, and local taxes. Many lower income families' tax burdens are reduced because of the Earned Income Tax Credit, a benefit awarded to people in lower tax brackets.

It's interesting how the rich or the job creators continue to complain about the poor, considering the poor made them rich. Tricky Ricky is speaking from the half of the population that doesn't pay taxes because he is a so called pastor and Mega churches don't pay taxes. A person that pays no taxes should really keep their fat bigoted mouth closed at the risk of losing said tax exemption. I think the era of religious institutions being exempt from taxes needs to end, especially when they seem to be advocating against the poor, the infirm, and the least of us. The very reason they get these tax breaks is so they can help these people, so if they are no longer serving the poor then their tax exempt status should be revoked. If a pastor runs their mouth about political matters, tax exemption should stop instantly, because separation of church and state has been breeched.

 I was unaware that 47% of Americans are religious institutions that sell snake oil to the masses with an ever expanding ego and waistline. He has a church called Saddleback Ranch, yet he has some of the most idiotic statements that this clown has made, has to do with gays. Irony? He doesn't like gays and compares homosexuality to incest, although, anyone with that haircut is right up on my gaydar. If you are gay, you can't be a member of his gay sounding named church: "Because membership in a church is an outgrowth of accepting the Lordship and leadership of Jesus in one's life, someone unwilling to repent of their homosexual lifestyle would not be accepted as a member at Saddleback Church." And miss that revenue from the tithes that you are so pissed that people aren't paying taxes on? But to prove his hypocrisy, homosexuality isn't the worse sin he says this: "I'm no homophobic guy," and that "in the hierarchy of evil...homosexuality is not the worst sin." Really?! I thought it was an abomination...in most churches if you sneeze on an ant, that's an immortal sin, but homosexuality isn't the worst? You know why it isn't the worst? You are GAY!

If this is God's marketing department, it needs to be revamped big time. It seems Satan has all the smart people and God has the lock on the short bus scholars.The people that use religion as a trademark are even condemned by their peers. The societal exodus from religion/g­od is not a result of a moral bankruptcy! It's a shame in a label. Spirituali­ty/ ideolog­y recedes to where it should be...the individual­. Defending, or critiquing­....is not aimed at the label; the evaluation is simply based on the degree of difference in the evaluator to the subject.

 Politics = controversy. Religion = controvers­ey. Politics/R­eligion together = The separation is what should separate this country (USA) from the other "troubled" world government­al entities. Those who abuse it should be jailed or fined, preferably embarrassed for being the jackasses and crooks they are. Simple as that. (the southern pastor's are the greatest offenders)

When will people wise up, and understand religion is simply a subjective moral code, not a pattern or organizati­onal chart for society control. Fear is fear....fe­ar controls..­..religion = fear.

Wishing Obama Was A Dick

Mark Halperin was terminated from his job as arm chair pundit on Country Joe Scarbrough for calling the President a Dick for telling the Republicans to do their jobs. If only Obama truly were this so called"dick", he's more like a "p$ssy" just like every Democrat that is elected into public office. Why can't he be more like W. and the rest of the "shoot first ask questions later squad"? Don't get me wrong, Bush made the wrong choices, but if the House, Senate, American people and the world at large didn't agree with  Bush and co., they would tell them to go f*ck themselves. Not Obama. He continues to disappoint his base by "negotiating" with people who have no interest in working with him and wants to see him fail. We watched in alarm as he played his hand early on healthcare, giving up the public option he campaigned on, extending the Bush tax cuts in order to extend unemployment benefits. The final insult, is the raising of the debt by tying it into the destruction to end Medicare. This decision or bargaining position is out of step with the American people, the administration has baffling sabotaged its sharpest contrast with the GOP by putting Medicare on the bargaining table. And Social Security, too, even though it has nothing to do with the debt ceiling, or even the deficit. And while Republicans keep upping their spending cut demands by hundreds of billions of dollars, the president has pre-emptively abandoned any attempt to restore Clinton-era tax rates on millionaires, another lopsidedly popular proposal among Americans, and he has instead bought in to his opponents' narrative that the reason American businesses are sitting on trillions of dollars of cash is because they lack "certainty" about future tax policy. (Right, where are the jobs?)

Does he have a secret strategy like he did with Bin Laden, sitting coolly, possessing a knowledge that us mere mortals are ignorant about? Obama needs to walk in the House chamber and just slap people for GP or he needs a titanium spine implant, better yet, he should borrow Michelle's. It's obvious that she has that quality that can get difficult things done. Can he for once control the argument and effectively state that the Republicans are willing to push the economy of the cliff for the sake of partisan ideology. Nope. He will as usual let the kids in the room have a temper tantrum and this time hold the entire world economy hostage. How is that for hope and change?

Is this an attempt by the administration to create a crisis to move the agenda forward? God, I hope not. That strategy doesn't work in government or in everyday life. The theory that people work harder to meet deadlines when they have to, creates an atmosphere of fear and paranoia which makes people work just hard enough not to get fired.

Why does spending cuts have to be linked to the debt ceiling? When The Duke of Hazard was President, no one heard about the debt ceiling. It was raised 7 times and the hill was so quiet you could hear a snake break wind in Egypt. There was no grandstanding and politicking about the debt. The people that created the debt is now all concerned about the debt they created and is making it the scariest thing ever. When you truly believe you are God's chosen political party and that if the whole world goes to hell in a hand-baske­t that Jesus will return and whisk you all away in the blink of an eye, why should you compromise on any point? To compromise is to mean you don't have faith in God and to not have faith in God means you aren't a Christian. There...th­e whole goofy explanatio­n for the actions of the Repubs/Tea Partiers in two short sentences.

Republicans want to destroy Obama's presidency, but Obama isn't helping his re-election cause himself. Senate Minority Leader, The Blob/ Turtle Mitch McConnell, suggested that Congress give up its power to raise the debt ceiling, and instead effectively transfer that authority -- and the political pain that comes with it -- to the White House for the remainder of Obama's current term. Under current law, Congress raises the debt ceiling, which allows the Treasury Department to issue more bonds to pay off debts and fund projects that Congress has already authorized. Raising the debt ceiling does not authorize or appropriate new spending, but merely settles old bills.


Yet under McConnell's plan, which he called his "last-choice option," the White House would request an increase in the debt ceiling and Congress could only block that request with a veto-proof super majority -- effectively ceding control over the debt limit to the White House. A super majority would likely be difficult to amass, especially when neither party's leadership genuinely wants the nation to default.
The bill would require the president to recommend spending cuts -- without revenue-raisers -- in the same amounts of a debt ceiling increase request, although actually passing the cuts would not be necessary to raise the debt limit.


"It gives the president 100 percent of the responsibility for increasing the debt limit," Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) told reporters after the press conference.

The debt limit would be increased three times during Obama's term: First, by $700 billion over the next few weeks, then $900 billion in the fall and another $900 billion in the spring, McConnell said.

But the bill doesn't guarantee that spending cuts will happen, McConnell said. Can you just hear the crap that will come out this lizards mouth? Why so pessimistic? Republican­s have been making fools of themselves and a mockery of the government they pretend to serve for quite a while, yet , come next year, there will be just enough fools with their fingers in their noses saying, "Aw, heck, maybe I aughta re-elect 'em" and mostly in the South which is why we are in this mess in the first place. Again, Obama and the Democrats bear a great deal of blame for being completely ineffective for communicating message to the lowest common denominator, i.e. the American voter. They continuously get out "christian-ed", out "feared" and out everything that makes people fill in that oval on November 4th. The Republicans are beholden to the Fortune 500 CEO's and Wallstreet and if anyone believes any different they are delusional.

This new "last choice option" is a win/ win strategy for the Republicans because if Obama  raises the debt ceiling they can denounce him as a spender, if he doesn't raise it they can blame him for our nation defaulting.

This is truly a scary time for this nation, our elected officials care nothing for our best interests, it's all politics all the time, there are more people than jobs, mass unemployment (I should know) , and the people that we have elected to fight for us have no fight in them.

The perfect storm is brewing for a 1939 Nazi Germany to take place here in the American fatherland/ homeland , unemployment, war, decline of American prestige, a minority group to vilify, a fearful naive electorate, propaganda news channels, a melding of religion and politics, re writing of history, denial of science, lust for war, and global dominance. American Fascism will come in the shadow of the cross and wrapped in the flag.

I stopped defending Obama after the healthcare debacle. Had he and the rest of the Dem's held their ground during that debate, giving in the Republicans during the stimulus, the debate in December, the Republicans wouldn't act like spoiled petulant children taking throwing sippy cups around DC. Obama was again ready to give up Medicare and Social Security just to appease after he scolded Republican's about not being willing to get the job done...

He is willing to make a deal with Satan, Hitler, Stalin, Manson, Dahmer, Judas Iscariot, Jason Voorhies, Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Daffy Duck, Mickey Mouse, Ivanna Humpalot, I.P. Freely...anyone.

Dick Cheney was a Dick, he shot a dude in the face and the guy apologized to him and his family. Obama is not a Dick, he is a p$ssy, a dry, loose, hooker STD infected p$ssy with no traction. I can support a Dick for President and re-election...I can NOT support a p$ssy.

The Invisible Obama Presidency

Now the President has moved from the shrinking president to the virtually invisible president in regards to the debt ceiling. Well...most things. Here we have a man with such incredible intellect and wonderful speaking ability who refuses to use the one thing that every President must learn to utilize effectively. The Bully pulpit. How else does he think he can shape and mold the electorate? The White House is asking the business community to reason with the Congress about the dire consequences of not raising the debt ceiling by the August 2 deadline. If the debt ceiling isn't raised, interest rates could go up and throw the economy back into recession. Personally, to the common folks, it still feels like a recession, not a recovery, which is what Obama has to worry about if he wants to win next year. The administration states that if the government defaults, the republicans should shoulder the blame. Really? Both the Obama admin. and the Republicans bear the blame. Obama for his hands off, philosophical approach to leadership, hiring wall-street people responsible for the economic mess in the first place. When he was elected, the people wanted to feel that there was an adult in the room and that there was someone that could help. What did we get? Bubble gum feel good messages about how great things were going instead of focused, direct and targeted messages to expose the republicans lies of low taxes and deregulation. Reagan should follow his idol Reagan, hell Bush. They were so much better at proselytizing and lying to the public. To this day, people stupidly invoke Reagan as the greatest American president ever, utilizing his economic framework, language, and sentence structure. Where is the Obama from 2008? "I am from the government, I am here to help, hope and change?" There is nothing left but echoes and silence.

Obama has proven to be a conservative president, not a progressive, a liberal or a democrat. For the life of me, I don't understand why Republicans dislike him. He has continued every policy that Bush enacted, he's just more articulate, but nothing has changed. What does it take for him to understand? He is the reason that the Democrats lost the House, the midterms were a referendum on Obama. Romney is looking more credible and if the economy is the main issue, then Obama will have a difficult time arguing that he has done all he could to pull America out of the quagmire. His only saving grace would be having Newt or category 5 moron Bachmann winning the nomination, but that's highly unlikely. During this last year, he should be balls to the wall, take no prisoners, to the American people. So what if his maneuvering doesn't work. It will look like he is trying to get something done, and not pussyfooting around burning every last drop of political capital he has being the "Great Compromisor". Otherwise, he goes down in history as being Bush's third term.

This is Obama's election to lose and he doesn't have that electrifying energy and George Bush to demonize this time. Obama has wasted opportunities and chose to side with the corporations over the people time and time again. 

He can only hope that he is the lesser of two evils at this point.
